This app is built by students of Camosun College ("4 for 4's") in partnership with Camosun Innovates and STEPS Public Art. We designed Monument Unmaking to use only the device permissions needed for nearby AR experiences.
Location is used while you use the app to check whether you are near a public art site so nearby AR experiences can unlock, and to help place AR content more accurately. We request Precise Location for best results. Location is processed on your device for these features and is not sold.
The camera powers the live AR view so digital art can appear over the real-world monument. Camera frames are used for AR tracking and display in the app.
If you capture an AR photo in the app, Monument Unmaking may save that image to your photo library so you can keep and share it. We do not browse or upload your existing photos.
The app may download monument information and AR content over the internet, and may use location-aware AR services to localize experiences outdoors. Standard network identifiers needed to deliver that content may be used by those services.
You can change Location, Camera, and Photos permissions anytime in your device Settings. Denying a permission may limit related features (for example, nearby unlock, AR view, or saving captures).
